JEWELRY

you wouldn’t think a month
or a season
could blow you sideways
.
but that just make it easier
for those seeds
to reach the ground

The sun is brighter, warmer, a more frequent visitor.
The snow is melting away, inch by inch.
My roof is ice-free for the first time in months.
These morning glory pods hang on tight, just waiting.
Mr. Cardinal takes his post at the top of the last pine
and sings good morning to the sky.
And my heart is right there, with him.

I’m so excited, honored, and happy to have a feature
in the latest issue of Bella Grace, where I’m sharing
lessons I’ve learned from my garden.
It’s such a beautiful book-magazine, filled with art and life,
gorgeous imagery and wonderful words.
It’s the kind of book that makes you want to curl up
with the latest issue and a nice mug of tea
and settle in for a leisurely read.
It almost makes me kind of glad that it’s still sit-in-front-of-the-fire season.
. . .
. . .
The weather is warming up a bit though,
and we’ve had several days of glorious sunshine.
Seeds have been ordered, and soon, it will be time to get my hands dirty.
I’m so looking forward to tea with Mr. Mockingbird.
So looking forward to spending time with that sky.
.
It’s Monday, and my heart is singing.

It’s been a long, snowy, winter. My dog, Jake, and NaughtyKitten™ can both look right into my studio window now when they want to come inside.
Jake loves to be King of the Hill. He’s not usually a great fan of being outside, except to “help” my husband grill, but winter is his favorite. Supposedly he is part beagle and part German shepherd, but I think there must be some husky in there somewhere.
He loves the snow.
At this point in the season, that makes one of us.
.
Wishing you a weekend filled with things you love.

.
.
embrace the
lines and wrinkles
flaws and imperfections
joy given freely
hope sung quietly
color that bleeds
.
let it all
touch your heart

I’m kind of loving how the white ribbon I tied to a basket of grandbaby gifts last night is sporting a slight stripe of pink-mixed-with-blue in this morning’s light. (We don’t know if the baby is a boy or a girl, it’s going to be a surprise.)
And I’m kind of loving that last night, while wrapping the gifts, I was struck once again by the fact that I’m going to be a grandma.
A grandma! Something to smile about.
So, a baby shower this weekend.
Something to look forward to on the last day of this oh-so-long month.
First I thought:
I have nothing but grocery store flowers to take pictures of, again.
Then I thought:
I have these gorgeous grocery store flowers to take pictures of, again.
That’s better.
