JEWELRY

she stood
silent and spent
and inhaled the beauty
all around her

Wishing you a Monday filled with beauty.

We harvest vegetables for dinner and season them with fresh herbs.
Each morning, each sunset, the light shifts a little further.
Daisies and second-bloom roses stand next to one lone sunflower.
Baby birds have all grown, spring green has turned to forest.
Weeds are pushing their way back in.
Not enough rain, still, but we’ve had a week of cooler weather.
Summer is winding down,
and dill celebrates with fireworks.

::
a still, still morning
a week of temperatures that feel like fall
a sparrow feeding its almost-grown baby
the buzz song of grasshopper
a garden washed cleaned by rain
flowers past their prime
flowers waiting to take the spotlight
grey web on blue green pine
shadow shapes that twist and lengthen
fruit that will become winter’s favorite earrings
a still, still morning

Whew. That was quite a weekend.
I had a garage sale and made 67 jars of pickles.
I am exhausted, but I feel good.
It was supposed to rain, but it did not.
A woman came to buy things to send to children in Africa.
We told her to pick out everything she wanted free of charge.
My house has more clean, empty space than it has in years.
My mind feels calm.
It is time to gear up for our first jewelry show.
August is clicking into place one day at a time.
I like that.

Wishing you a week filled with light.

with its your-vacation-is-now-over monday
and still, there are flowers
and still, birds sing
and still, the sun shines
but the shadows
are different.

beauty
is as simple
as the morning after
a night
filled with
rain
.
wishing you a weekend filled with beauty

on summer
on life
a grip
on being here
now
in this moment
and all
the moments
that came
before
