for me…
the winding down of summer comes with
anemone’s in the garden,
our biggest show of the year,
cooler than usual temperatures,
leaves just beginning to turn yellow,
hummingbirds storing as much energy as they can gather,
tall grasses beginning to bloom.

The end of summer has always been cleaning up the garden, changing out the flower pots with fresh fall mums, getting out the sweaters, doing a little outside work that was put off because of the heat. The beginning steps of readying for winter. And welcome the break from the heat, and enjoy those lovely cool sparkly days of color and light. Truly a time to stop and be in the moment.

Good luck this weekend. I’m thankful that the winding down of summer has brought cooler nights and dip in the humidity. I’m sure by the time we get back from our weeks trip to NC Fall will be in full swing.

Lovely capture and processing! I’m just a tad envious your garden find…not much growing in dry, dry Texas.
