savor
We harvest vegetables for dinner and season them with fresh herbs.
Each morning, each sunset, the light shifts a little further.
Daisies and second-bloom roses stand next to one lone sunflower.
Baby birds have all grown, spring green has turned to forest.
Weeds are pushing their way back in.
Not enough rain, still, but we’ve had a week of cooler weather.
Summer is winding down,
and dill celebrates with fireworks.

Your mother nature always has a fresh face for those with the looking glass.

Beautiful. I am feeling the late August shift as well, but no fireworks. ; )

Yes…I’m feeling the waning light..the ever-so-slightly cooler temperatures. And what a beautiful image and representation of these fireworks!

Now that is just the prettiest Queen Anne’s lace, I’ll tell you. This morning was dark when we left for the weekly blood work for my husband, at 6:20. I can tell the days are getting shorter.
