This weekend, what was left of all the snow we had melted.

On Saturday, I went for a two-hour walk through the heavy mushy remains in a light Spring jacket. My husband was able to ski in the morning and golf in the afternoon. This was a big thing for him, a bucket list dream.

On Sunday afternoon, we grilled burgers and ate outside, picnic style. In January. I’m pretty sure that was a first. According to my computer, it was 68 degrees.

It was a weekend filled with family. Lazy time spent together in front of the fire, low-key dinners, visiting and catching up. It was one of those times when everything clicked together just right.

I didn’t give myself anything to do, nor anywhere to be. We lived in the moment and simply enjoyed each other’s company.

Sometimes, the simple things really are the best.

And sometimes, all you have to do is show up.

showing up is really all we ever have to do! showing up here is a pleasure!

So true! Lovely sentiment and gorgeous photograph.

We had a great weekend too. Bryan and I worked outside doing some yard trimming and tidy up while the weather was so gorgeous. The dogs were with us outside having a blast, it was a great day. Temps today are below freezing though so it was short lived.

That last sentence? Loved that.

what a beautiful christmas card this would make .

Oh yes. The simple things are so often the most memorable and wonderful. That is something I have learned so well because my chronic pain keeps me from doing so much, and almost always prevents me from doing the Big Fun Things I sometimes dream about. But it’s often the small, spontaneous moments in between that mean the most, and I treasure them all the more because they are all I have.
