blackbird, fly

::

with your heart on your sleeve

and your trill shrill call

that echoes

off glass reflecting

water walls

your piercing stare

that holds no secrets

your chitter chatter

that says nothing at all

you

carry the seasons

on your shiny

black back

as one heavy load

that you never

acknowledge

Beautiful, clever, and profound; a well-rounded sweet short song.

WoW … “off glass reflecting waterfalls” … always such a joy to read your words.

One of my favorite Beatles songs is “Blackbird”…I find myself humming the tune to myself as I looked at this page!

Is that a red winged black bird? Such beautiful words.

love the double L rhyming. it opens the door to this poem, and ends on a nice thought provoker at all that is carried…

Lovely. I especially like the carrying of the seasons.

Great imagery.

Wonderful words, and fantastic photograph!

it is a gift to create this, word and image

stunning….

check out short story slam today. hope to see your participation.

So beautifully poetic – both the words..and the image!

Delightful piece =)

Your skills to combine word and image are endless

god, carrying the seasons. indeed they do. do you think they know?
